Doctors absent at Sircilla hospital

Collector takes CCTV footage as evidence in his pen-drive


District Collector D. Krishna Bhaskar has expressed his ire at the medical and para-medical officials of the government headquarters hospital for dereliction of their duties in Sircilla textile town on Tuesday.


The Collector along with Joint Collector Yasmeen Basha, DRO Shyam Prasad Lal and others made a surprise inspection of the hospital. During the checking of attendance register, it was found that the doctors and para-medical staff had signed the register and disappeared from the hospital without any information.


At this juncture, the Collector inspected the CCTV footage and biometric attendance recordings and was shocked to notice that there were there were no doctors in the visuals.


The hospital staff said that the CCTV cameras were not functioning due to the repairs to the ICU ward.


But, the Collector collected recordings in his pen-drive and warned of serious action after inspecting the records.


When the patients informed that the hospital staff were collecting mamools and demanding ? 600 for conducting every delivery, the Collector expressed anger and assured them of action against those responsible.


District Medical & Health Officer Ramesh was also present.
