Only 17 Districts in Telangana: Centre

Much to the shock of the TRS Government, Union Home Ministry has approved only 17 out of 31 Districts in Telangana.Post the formation of TRS Government, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao proposed the idea of delimitation of existing 10 Districts for reasons such as better governance and creation of employment opportunities. As many as 21 new districts were created to satisfy leaders and people of all the regions in the state. Whereas, Centre stunned the Telangana Government by approving only 17 out of 31 districts.
