Building under construction collapsed in Warangal

Experts in rescue operations from the Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) were called in to help the authorities after a watchman was trapped in debris of an under construction building that collapsed here in Diesel colony on Tuesday night.It was not known whether the watchman Meda Bikshapathi (63) was dead or alive. The night watchman reported for duty around 8.30 pm and the three-storeyed building collapsed, possibly due to improper foundation, authorities said.

According to his wife Manemma, the house was being built by Kothapally Ravinder Reddy of Koppur village of Bheemadevarapally mandal.Meanwhile, district collector Amrapali Kata along with other officials visited the spot on Wednesday and directed the officials to take to rescue the trapped watchman, Meanwhile, engineers from the NIT, Warangal, have also been called in to help the rescue team in the operation.
